Modern Obscure Music welcomes Euan Dalgarno to the label. Using a minimalistic set-up, the Scottish producer crafts full sounding experimental compositions. Edinburgh based Dalgarno has previously released music on imprints such as Silhouette Tapes and Slow Release Records. Here, he provides a wealth of material for the Amsterdam based Modern Obscure Music. Waves2, undr_Insr, and thrust are a trio of string-driven pieces.
Axfordm is a dramatic track where Claire Shanley-Inglis’ vocals are embedded between the grooves. Waves is both quick firing and disorientating, whilst opinan features elongated synth phrases. Grindhxxx places a gritty bassline over layered percussion and axfordm2 sees Claire Shanley-Inglis return to lay intriguing spoken vocals over expansive synths. Unlike anything we’ve seen before on Modern Obscure Music, axfordm is an exciting debut from Euan Dalgarno.
